The Mini Maxx V2 combines preloaded diesel tuning, live engine data and diagnostic-code reading in a compact in-cab display. It supports selected Ford Powerstroke, Chevrolet/GMC Duramax and Dodge/RAM Cummins applications. Available settings and gauges depend on your truck, engine-computer software and connected equipment.
Check your setup before ordering: this is an emissions-delete tuner for compatible off-road and competition applications. It does not support operation with factory emissions systems active. Exhaust pipes, EGR components and other vehicle-specific hardware may be required in addition to the tuner.

What the Mini Maxx V2 offers
- Preloaded tuning: vehicle-specific calibrations for supported applications, without having to commission a custom tune.
- Live engine monitoring: view supported engine readings on the display. Available gauges vary by application; some require additional equipment.
- Diagnostic-code reading: read and clear diagnostic trouble codes. Clearing a code does not repair its underlying cause.
- Software updates: update through the SD card using instructions and V2 files appropriate for your supplied unit.
Power Levels and Tuning Options
The Mini Maxx V2 provides preloaded tuning for supported applications. Available power levels and horsepower increases depend on your truck’s engine, model year, PCM software and the calibrations supplied with the tuner.
Shift-on-the-fly power adjustment is available only on supported applications. Some vehicles require reprogramming to change levels.

Important application restrictions
- 2018–2021 RAM: the standard tuner package does not include the additional security-bypass equipment. Confirm the contents of your selected package with JS Speed Shop. Some PCM software is unsupported; the published support notes flag PCM part numbers beginning with a letter.
- 2013–2021 RAM: published support notes report boost dropping to around 20 PSI on affected vehicles, without a permanent fix listed. Ask about the supplied software and current limitations before ordering.
- Duramax LML: boost display, tire-size adjustment and speed-limiter adjustment are not supported in the published notes. Dual-fuel-tank LML configurations are unsupported. LGH applications are excluded from this listing.
- Power-level switching: shift-on-the-fly operation is not available on every application. Do not assume the same settings or functions across all listed vehicles.
- Exhaust-temperature monitoring: factory EGT probes are not supported. A compatible aftermarket sensor and docking station are required for EGT readings.
What's included
The standard new tuner package includes:
- Mini Maxx V2 display and windshield mount
- OBD-II adapter box and HDMI cable
- Power connection hardware, including a fuse tap
- SD card, card reader / USB adapter and USB cable
- Preloaded V2 tuning software
Additional hardware: exhaust pipes and EGR hardware are not included with the standard tuner package. Requirements depend on your vehicle and existing setup. For 2018–2021 RAM, confirm the required bypass equipment and selected package before purchase.
Before installation
- Review the current instructions for your supplied device and vehicle. Professional installation is recommended.
- Use a battery charger capable of a steady 10A supply, as specified in the published V2 installation information.
- Address emissions-related dash messages while the truck is still stock, and follow the instructions to install the tuning before fitting hard parts.
- Do not interrupt power or disconnect the tuner during programming.
- Use only update files confirmed for your unit. Do not install V2 files on a V1 or use software intended for another device.
Mini Maxx V2 FAQs - before you buy
Does it come with tuning already loaded?
Yes. The Mini Maxx V2 is supplied with preloaded tuning for supported applications. You still need to confirm compatibility and complete the installation for your vehicle.
Does it support custom tuning?
No. The published Mini Maxx V2 FAQ states that custom tuning and H&S Overdrive transmission tuning are not supported. Other transmission-related functions are application-specific; contact us about your exact setup.
Will I need other parts?
Depending on your vehicle and existing setup, you may need exhaust pipes, block-off plates or other components. Supported 2018–2021 RAM applications also require security-bypass equipment. Call us before ordering if you need help putting together the required parts.
Does the tuner need to stay plugged in?
Keep it connected to use the display and live monitoring. The published V2 FAQ says that disconnecting it can return the selected power setting to the “no power” level after several drive cycles, without removing the delete tuning.
How much extra power or fuel economy should I expect?
Results depend on the vehicle, calibration, mechanical condition and supporting equipment. We do not promise a fixed horsepower increase or fuel-economy improvement across every application.
Will it fix a DEF warning, check-engine light or limp mode?
These symptoms need diagnosis. The tuner is not a guaranteed repair for an unknown fault, failed sensor or damaged component.
Can I use updates from any Mini Maxx website?
Do not assume files are interchangeable between devices sold under similar names. Follow the guidance supplied with your unit, and contact JS Speed Shop if you are unsure which software to use.
